New Years is always a rather obnoxious time of the year: Ideas of change, self-reform, resolutions swarming around peoples head for, oh Id say a month maybe two if you strong-willed. Then reality sets in and New Years is a distant memory. At least until next New Years and the viscous cycle starts up all over again. But hey, who am I to rain on New Years parade?
Hypocritical as I am, I too, in the back of my mind make a small check list of things to-do in the New Year. Last year and bought a gym membership in hopes of running lots of 5k races. I never ran a 5k last year, but I did keep my running up. Im now up to five miles where this time last year could only run one. So Id say I did well in keeping my New Years promise.
This year I propose to be more creative, shoot more and try new formatsnew mediums. In my many misadventures, I got an old Yashica-D for about $2.75. The thing works pretty well and is in good shape. Ive never shot medium format before {Polaroids dont count in my mind} so Im hoping this could be something good for me. The camera has been sitting on my printer, staring at me with its bug eyes; it has become my tangible New Years resolution.
Pessimism aside, lets hope 2009 is a better year. Id like to hear what everyone else is planning for the year: a goal, a resolution, a mission, whatever it may be. Lets hear it! And maybe we can all keep each other on track in 09.
Okay, no more feel-good, Im-okay-your-okay bullshit. Like always, check out the features for this month!

It's like some other song, pretty but something's always wrong.
Come to know me.

I was thinking in getting a Yashica as well, just to have fun, where did you get yours?

Let me know if you find it, even though I still prefer the nikon I'm gonna get, I've always wanted to try those to play around
