Board and snowed in. Though I'd work with some still life since I haven't done a flower shot in a while.

Beautifully simple. I like the tonal gradient in the background purple, and the curve my eye follows looking at the flowers. But I agree with ~MiLla-inc, the left side feels a little crowded. :)

Looking back now, it is a bit of a server crop on that side, if I do flowers in the future, I'l be keeping this in mine ;)

By strange coincidence I bought one just over a week ago. I haven't had a chance to do much with it yet but I'm just about in shock over how sharp it is, and how nice it is to use. :)

Oooo! Which did you get? I bet it's fun to use! I was looking into the Sigma 50mm

Canon EF 100mmL F2.8. Its a heap of fun to use, but I'm still in the early stages of learning how to get the best from it. Its a bit odd shooting portraits with it, its just a little too telephoto on an APS-C body. The shallow depth of field at anything above about half life size is still throwing me a little too. But I lost myself for about 3 hours yesterday just staring down into sundews through it.

I know someone who has the Sigma 50mm, and loves it. Looks like a nice lens.

Ooo! I took a peek at some of the images in your gallery and what a fab lens! The DOF is beautiful! I love a shallow DOF in my images, and though I'm loyal to Nikon, Cannon make beautiful lenses.

it is indeed a nice shot, but somehow i'd want the left flower to be a bit further from the side so u could have a bit more of the background colour between the end of the pic and the flower.
